Practical Stages Of The Insurance Contract Issuance According to the Emirati Civil Law and As Amended

The insurance contract is a contract between two parties, the insurer and the insured, which abides the first party, the insurer, by paying an amount of money that is the insurance amount to the insured when an agreed upon risk occurs, that should be mentioned in the contract. This is in consideration of an installment of money the insured undertakes to pay for the insurer, and it is called the insurance installment.
Stages of Entering the Insurance Contract
Entering the insurance contract has consecutive stages, start with applying the insurance application by the insured. The second stage is a temporary agreement by the two parties, waiting for the final agreement. The insurer sends to the insured a temporary cover note, then the final agreement is executed by signing the insurance document, including probability that the two parties may execute an addition or amendment in the original insurance contract, and prove that in the insurance document annex.
There are then four stages for entering the insurance contract as follows:
1- The Insurance Application
2- The Temporary Cover Note
3- The Insurance Document
4- The Insurance Document Annex
Some points in the insurance contract must be considered that are writing down every amendment or addition to the original contract in an annex signed by the insurer and the insured. In addition, the two parties may, before handing the insurance contract or the annex, undertake to each other with submitting a cover note adopting the general conditions of the insurance contract unless it is stated on otherwise.
